Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox is a Scottish born singer. She was born on the 25th of December in 1954, at Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox are her parents. Lennox was awarded a scholarship to attend London's Royal Academy of Music for three years. She survived on a student stipend and did part-time jobs in order to make ends meet. While in the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied with her skill in comparison to her fellow students and she pondered what alternative path she might follow. Lennox started out as a flute-player with the group Dragons Playground. However, she left prior to New Faces, the I.T.V. talent competition. She was the lead singer for The Tourists (a British popband) from 1977 to 1980. It was here that she made friends with Dave Stewart and together they formed the duo Eurythmics. Lennox started working on her first solo album Diva that was out by 1992. It was a huge success both critically and commercially. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth album by herself was released in October 2014. The C.D. is a selection of Lennoxs favourite blues and soul tracks from her early years. Lepidoptera includes four keyboard improvised tracks. The E.P. The first single from her debut album"Now I'm Letting You go... It is the soundtrack to her exhibit of art in the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. Annie Lennox was born in 1954 on December 25. She is an activist, philanthropist, and singer. The Tourists gained some minor recognition for her and Dave Stewart's work in the 1970s. They would go on, during the 80s, to form the popular duo Eurythmics. Lennox began her solo musical career in 1992 by releasing her debut album Diva. The album featured a variety of popular songs including Walking on Broken Glass and What's the Matter with You. Medusa is her album of studio work from 1995. The album features covers of such songs as No MoreI I Love Yous and The Whiter Shade of Pale. The singer is acknowledged with seven studio albums by herself as well as a compilation.
